Noëmi Nadelmann

Noëmi Nadelmann is considered one of the most versatile and fascinating singers on the classical music scene today. Her overwhelming charisma, her musical expressivity and her ability to transform herself into the characters she portrays make the soprano, who was born into a family of artists in Zurich, a sought-after guest at many great European opera houses and concert stages, as well as a popular oratorio singer. After studying in Zurich and at Indiana University in Bloomington, Noëmi Nadelmann joined the ensemble of the Zurich Opera House during the 1986/87 season. She made her debut as Musetta at the Teatro La Fenice in Venice in 1987 and became a regular guest at the Komische Oper Berlin in 1994 before her breakthrough in the title roles of La Traviata and Lucia di Lammermoor,both directed by Harry Kupfer. Guest engagements have taken her to the opera houses in Zurich, Berne, Paris, Hamburg, Munich, Vienna, Chicago, Cologne and Amsterdam, to New York’s MET and to Berlin’s opera houses. Noëmi Nadelmann has appeared in Beethoven’s Missa solemnis under Thielemann in Berlin, Cologne and Bonn, in Mahler’s Symphony No. 2 in Barcelona and in Beethoven’s Egmont in Dresden. She has worked with renowned conductors such as Kurt Masur, Sir Neville Marriner, Franz Welser-Möst, Christoph Eschenbach, Vladimir Fedoseyev, Nikolaus Harnoncourt, René Jacobs and with directors such as Harry Kupfer, Helmuth Lohner, David Alden and Götz Friedrich.
Noëmi Nadelmann regularly gives recitals and orchestra concerts all over the world.
Her CDs have been released by the labels Sony BMG, Oehms Classics and Arte Nova. She has appeared in numerous radio and television productions. Apart from giving regular master classes for professional singers and students, Noëmi Nadelmann is also active as a juror for various competitions.
